Final Fantasy VII Remake Confirmed

I’m sure cries of glory were heard around the world tonight at Sony’s E3 press-conference as a remake of Final Fantasy VII was announced. After years of Final Fantasy fans being very vocal about wanting a remake, their dream will now be made a reality.

The game will be written by Kazushige Nojima while Tetsuya Nomura will be directing. In the teaser, we get to see what a fully modernized Final Fantasy VII will look like in all it’s beauty, where as before the closest to that was Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. More details and a release date has yet to be announced, but what we do know is that the game will arrive on PlayStation 4 before it heads to other consoles.

I will admit it, even with how bitter I am considering that they were yelling “No remake because of reasons!” from the rooftops as recent as last autumn, I still cried. I am beyond excited. I hope they don’t make the other platforms wait too long. I want it for PC more than anything. I’m pretty over consoles anymore.

    • I think it’s amusing because when the PlayStation 3 was released, a sort of “mock trailer” was made to show what the graphics could do on a new system, and Final Fantasy 7 was chosen, depicting what it would look like IF there was a remake. Now several years later it’s finally happening. I would hope not, you would think they would see how much gamers detest such actions like that, but at LEAST it will be on other consoles and hopefully for PC too. It’s time the PC got some much needed attention.
